Our Glimpse of Northern Vietnam 6 day tour begins in Hanoi, with an extensive tour of the sites in Hanoi, after receiving your ‘Hanoi Dinner’ with a staff member on arrival. Take a night train ride to Lao Cai, the closest station to the Sapa region. Transfer to Sapa and the ethnic minority people of the mountainous north of the country. Enjoy discovering Villages, caves, waterfalls and the warm and friendly people that you meet and come across along the way. Take the opportunity to talk to your home-stay hosts to discover their outlook for the future. Return to Hanoi by a Tourist-Bus and the next morning depart for an overnight cruise on Halong Bay, Vietnam’s premier tourist destination. This tour ends on your return to Hanoi

Hanoi – Arrival

  • Picked up and welcomed by our tour guide at the airport.

Hanoi City

  • Take a gentle cyclo ride to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex, the Presidential Palace, Ho’s house on stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda, then the Temple of Literature
  • Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Visit Ngoc Son Temple and meander around Hoan Kiem Lake
  • Stroll around the Old Quarter and discover and explore the maze of alleys and lanes that make it what it is.
  • Enjoy café or a beer like the locals!

Hanoi – Night Train – Y Linh Ho –Lao Chai – Ta Van

  • Transfer to Hanoi Railway Station for the train to Lao Cai after dinner, around 20:30.
  • Arrive at Lao Cai train station in early morning.
  • Meet our guide for the Sapa region and enjoy breakfast in a brassiere.
  • Transfer by private vehicle to Sapa for a day of hiking around Sapa, to meet ethnic minorities in the heart of rice fields
  • Start hiking from the village of Y Linh Ho, in the Muong Hoa valley
  • Trek approx 6km through landscapes of terraced rice fields to the village of Lao Chai, of the black H’mong minority. Discover waterfalls, sculpted landscape of rice fields and minority people all in beautiful settings.
  • Meet people in their colourful costumes that delineate their tribe, all busy at work on the land, and will be touched by the kindness of women, who walk a little way with you
  • Walk a distance of 2 km to the village of Ta Van, inhabited by an ethnic group of Tay, after your lunch break
  • Visit the people of Ta Van, you will see the women’s looms, and also the watch them work at making their traditional dresses; your tour guide will explain the secrets the of embroidery decorations.

Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai - Sapa

  • Hike through the bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai inhabited by the community of Red Dao.
  • Meet villagers and visit their home.
  • Relax at the edge of a waterfall after climbing a small hill, then transfer to Sapa for lunch.
  • Discover an orchid garden and a magnificent view of Sapa from Mount Ham Rong
  • Relax with a massage using herbs gathered from nature in the surrounds of Sapa
  • Transfer by luxury bus back to Hanoi in the evening.

Hanoi – Ha Long Bay – Overnight Cruise

  • Travel from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay with our tour guide. Ha Long Bay, with its 1969 islands, is set in beautiful turquoise waters and was recognized for its natural beauty by UNESCO in 1994, and classified as a World Heritage Site
  • Receive a welcome drink on boarding, and install in private cabins.
  • Start your cruise while enjoying lunch
  • Lunch is served from a delicious seafood menu while cruising to magnificent Bai Tu Long Bay

Ha Long Bay– Hanoi

  • Enjoy a cruising through Vung Vieng fishing village
  • Discover the floating houses and the lifestyle of its population, who live permanently on the water, and while here, visit the floating school
